Summer. A summer dream. But a dream? Remember those longs days, the sun high, the sky a haze - of humidity and sweat. Ocean air and blackberries mix in with the silent breeze, sand between the toes, ice cream melting. Summer is perfect.
So...Kranky is kicking out, breaking out and saying hello to the world. We are getting busier, bringing in new faces and getting to know familiar ones, old ones. We are rocking our third month, enjoying the ups and downs, settling into a schedule, but not getting too comfy as changes are in the air. That's right, changes! Check for updates and news casts on what will be happening at the cafe. You can find us on facebook, twitter and in person. Come in and say hi, sit a while and enjoy a coffee. Drop in on one of our music nights - this is where the scene is at. man! We also display art by up and coming Vancouver artists, artwork that will soon grace the walls of many galleries world wide. So come quick!
Our baking is growing too! We are trying out new recipes, introducing more options and bringing in weekly specials. The pie is awesome - bursting with fresh berries and a buttery crust that will make you call out for more than another slice. We have vegan and gluten free options as well as no sugar added treats. that's right, our walnut raisin bread is sweetened only with raisins and a hint of orange zest. It's jam packed with the goodness of flax, whole wheat flour, walnuts and raisins and of course the power of love! just like all our baked goods, love is the first and last ingredient.
What's coming up? Well, Dana will be playing an acoustic show on July 10th - save the date my friends as this will be one kick ass (yes, like the coffee) performance.
We also have the work of Emily Merson going up on the wall on July 9th.
